EIGRP ROUTING METRICS


EIGRP provides a wide range for its metrics.
EIGRP uses a combination (vector) of metrics
- Bandwidth, delay, reliability, load .


EIGRP metric =
{(K1*Bandwidth) + [(K2*Bandwidth)/(256-load)] + (K3*Delay)} + K5/(Reliability+K4)]
Default K value : K1 =1, K2=0, K3=1, K4=0, K5=0


Default weightings (bandwidth, Delay) is used automatically to calculate optimal routes.
Network administrators can influence route selection .
Weighting factors for each metrics can set by network administrator.



•Administrative distance of EIGRP:
90 for internal routes
and 170 for external routes.
