- Just like PC , the CISCO router whether it be 2500 or 2600 will undergo POST(POWER-ON-SELF-TEST)
- After POST, the router will look for IOS in flash memory(EEPROM) of CISCO router
- Thereafter, router will look for a file known as "startup-config" in the NVRAM to load the router's configuration
- If there isn't a "startup-config" file, the router will automatically goes into SETUP mode
